Parleremo • Arabic

Arabic is a Central Semitic language, and has more speakers than any other language in the Semitic language family. It is spoken by more than 280 million people as a first language, most of whom live in the Middle East and North Africa. Modern standard Arabic is the universal language of the Arabic-speaking world and is is understood by all Arabic speakers. It is widely taught in schools, universities, and used in workplaces, government and the media.

Egyptian Arabic Dialect Course  This site teaches Egyptian Arabic through Egyptian songs. Although it's not needed, a basic knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic is helpful.
Nile Flower  A good collection of Egyptian Arabic phrases with audio. The site also has articles on Egyptian culture, travel tips and other things.
Gulf Arabic  A great site that teaches Gulf Arabic.
Arabic Online  A great site teaching Arabic. It has free interactive lessons with audio. Perfect for beginners.
Al Waraq  A website all in Arabic that lets you read books and other literture in Arabic.
Konouz  An Arabic search engine and directory.
Maghreb Muzik  A website that has music samples, lyrics and radio stations from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya. This would be useful for Arabic students interested in the Maghrebi dialect.
Institute Of the Language of the Quran  A site that teaches old Quranic Arabic. Has tons of videos and exercises.Very good website for students who want to learn Quranic Arabic.
Eqtibas, Arabic quotations website  Eqtibas (اقتباس), the largest Arabic quotations database, it contains a large collection of Arabic quotations and sayings.
Arabic Pod  Arabic pod is a podcast for learning Arabic, it teaches modern standard Arabic. There are many free lessons, but to get enhanced lessons it costs extra.
