Parleremo • Voice Chat

Parleremo uses Teamspeak 3 as its voice chat software.
It supports Windows (32-bit and 64-bit), Mac OS X, and Linux (amd64 and x86).
To join the Teamspeak 3 voice chat, you need to follow these instructions:

1. Download the Teamspeak 3 Client for your system.    Download TeamSpeak here.
2. Install the program you just downloaded.
3. Start the program, and click "Connections" in the upper left corner.
4. Select "Connect" from that menu.
5. Enter the following information into the box:
   Address: www.parleremo.org
   Port: 9987
6. Enter a nickname for yourself in "Nickname". To make it easier for others to identify you, it should be the same as your site username. This nickname can be changed later.
7. Click "Connect".

Once you have connected for the first time, you may need to set up your microphone. Click on "Settings" at the top and select "Setup Wizard". This will guide you through the steps to choosing you nickname and setting up and testing your microphone.

It is advised to use "Push-to-Talk" instead of "Voice Activation". Push-to-talk will allow you far better control over your microphone, preventing your microphone to start recording on background noises, as well as not losing the start and ending of what you are saying.

Also on the "Settings" menu is the "Options" section. Here you can change the setup you did with the Wizard, as well as how the Teamspeak 3 client looks and acts on your computer and the language it is displayed in.

Note that since TS3 is still in Beta, it may be harder to find add-ons for it.
