Arabic is a Central Semitic language, and has more speakers than any other language in the Semitic language family. It is spoken by more than 280 million people as a first language, most of whom live in the Middle East and North Africa. Modern spoken Arabic is the universal language of the Arabic-speaking world and is is understood by all Arabic speakers. It is widely taught in schools, universities, and used in workplaces, government and the media.
Assamese is the easternmost Indo-Aryan language, mainly used in the state of Assam in North-East India and parts of Arunachal Pradesh. It is spoken by approximately 15-20 million people and is also the official language of Assam.
Azerbaijani is the state official language of Azerbaijan and has over 30 million speakers. It is a Turkic language, and has two distinct appearances, one using the Latin alphabet and the other Perso-Arabic script.
